Savouring the stories that truly define Southland’s success

Southern-based culture and lifestyle magazine, The Life, is proud to announce the release of their eleventh edition, celebrating the people and spirit of the south.

This issue pays homage to our local heroes and their remarkable achievements, whose passion, dedication and innovation have truly set this corner of the world apart.

Published by Naked Creative, the magazine will be available for purchase in stores and online from October 30 – but pre-sales have already begun online.

The Life Editor Carla Forbes is thrilled about the latest edition, emphasising that the people in the south make her job very easy.

“The magazine is a testament to the incredible stories of our people and region. Individuals who have discovered their passion, and who work tirelessly for their chosen causes. It’s been an absolute pleasure to work on,” she said.

This year’s edition features two clear themes: heroes and food. It celebrates the unsung heroes but also offers a delectable food storytelling experience, highlighting Southland’s role as New Zealand’s food basket. It promises to take readers on an immersive, culinary journey.

“We hope this edition inspires, educates and shines a light on the remarkable achievements within our community. It's a testament to the unwavering spirit and passion that defines this region,” Forbes said.

In a time where regions increasingly compete for a skilled workforce and talent, The Life emerges as a potent tool for showcasing the south and its people. The magazine offers a unique opportunity to celebrate and share the stories that genuinely define Southland’s success.

Forbes says the role of storytelling in supporting talent attraction, recruitment and regional empowerment cannot be understated.

“By illuminating the remarkable achievements of our region and its people, we not only draw talent but also cultivate an environment of growth and prosperity in the south,” she said.
